Important Things to Note (for Your Corporation)

If your corporation was incorporated before October 19, 2021, you may still need to get a Company Key to file changes. The Company Key is a unique code from the Ontario Business Registry that confirms you’re authorized to make updates to your corporation’s records — kind of like a password for your business.

The address on file must be a proper physical address in Ontario; P.O. Boxes are typically not acceptable.

If you’re making structural changes (e.g., name changes or share-structure changes), you’ll need to file separate forms (Articles of Amendment) — we can help with this.

Keeping your records up to date helps you avoid penalties, ensures banks and third parties have the right info, and keeps your public corporate profile accurate.

Even after we file the change, be sure to keep a copy of the proof and update your own records (bank, CRA, etc.) if your address or directors have changed.
